Section 1 Publishing Scope

Ocean Development and Management (ISSN 1005-9857, CN 11-3525/P), founded in 1984, is a comprehensive academic journal of oceanology in China, governed by the Ministry of Natural Resources, sponsored by China Ocean Press.

Scope

1. Comprehensive Management: strategic planning, policy and law, resource management, ecology and environmental protection, forecasting and disaster reduction, rights protection, marine law enforcement, etc.

2. Oceanic Engineering: engineering consulting, equipment, environmental assessment, environmental engineering, exploration and development, marine energy utilization, offshore and underwater engineering, etc.

3. Oceanic Economics: marine fishery, transportation, coastal tourism, oil and gas exploration, shipbuilding, salt industry, chemical industry, biomedicine, seawater utilization, etc.

 

Section 2 Requirement for Manuscripts

1.      General Requirement: Manuscripts should have clear argument, substantial content, reliable data and concise writing. There should be no confidentiality issues.

2.      Article Information: Manuscript should include article title, author names (in order), institutes, postal code, abstracts, keywords, main body text (including necessary figures and tables) and references. The title and number of funding project, award or key project should be indicated in the footnote on the first page of the manuscript. There should be a brief introduction of the first author including name, gender, degree, title, research field and e-mail. Detailed and accurate mailing address, telephone number and e-mail of the contact person should be provided.

3.      Abstracts: The Chinese abstract should be about 350 characters, written from the third-person perspective. The objective, methods, results and conclusion of the study should be stated. English abstract is required.

4.      Keywords: Generally, 3~8 standard terms should be selected as keywords both in Chinese and English. The terminology should be standardized, which can highlight the theme and reflect the content of the article.

5.      Main Body TextThe manuscript should be written clearly, with standardized terms and clear headings. References cited in the main body text shall be marked with brackets at the upper right corner of the quotation.

6.      Formula and SymbolsThe formula and symbols shall comply with the National Standard of Quantities and Units (GB31003102-93). Quantity symbols, variable symbols and axis symbols are in italics. Vectors, tensors, and matrices are presented in bold italics. The subscripts should be in italics for variable quantity symbols. The quantity symbols should be represented by single letter (except for special cases). The name and unit of t quantity must be given when it first appears in the manuscript.

7.      TerminologyTerms shall be selected from those approved by the China National Committee for Terminology in Science and Technology. For terms translated by authors, the original words in the original foreign language shall be given when they appear for the first time in the manuscript. All units of measurement shall be legal units of measurement of the People's Republic of China and shall be represented by international common symbols.

8.      FiguresFigures should be self-explanatory. If necessary, the meaning of each symbol and the experimental parameters in figures should be explained with a note. The title should be clear in meaning. If there is a map of China, the national boundaries should be in accordance with the maps published by the SinoMaps Press. Taiwan and the South China Sea Islands must be included.

9.      TablesThree-line-style should be adopted. Vertical and diagonal lines shall be used as less as possible. Line segments can be appropriately added if necessary. The title should be clear self-explanatory and annotated if necessary.

10.   References: Preferably no less than 10 articles shall be quoted. The adopted national format standard can be stated. References should be numbered properly according to the order of appearance. Please try to quote domestic and foreign literatures in recent years. Generally, only first three authors of the references are listed, separated by ",", and followed by "" or "et al.". For English, all abbreviation dots shall be omitted. Names are listed with last name followed by first name. The document type should be indicated as: Journal[J], Monograph[M], Conference[C], Newspaper[N], Dissertation[D], Report[R], Standard[S], Patent[P], Others [Z]. The place of publication and publisher must be indicated for monographs, dissertations and reports.

Journal Article:

Format: Author. Title[J]. Journal title, Year, Vol (Issue): Page range.

Monograph:

Format: Author. Book title[M]. Place: Publisher, Year: Page range.

Section 3 Fees

Charging standard: RMB 300 per thousand words (excluding spaces). Notification will be sent by email and paper notification. The journal will not charge fees from individual accounts.

For published manuscripts, the editorial office will remunerate the authors with a one-off payment, two free copies of the current issue shall be posted to the first author.

 

Section 4 Method of Submission

Please visit our website (http://www.haiyangkaifayuguanli.com), log in “Authors” and submit your manuscript online. Status can be check at any time. Please fill in the author’s information carefully. The first author and the corresponding author registered in the system should be the same as in the manuscript. Please inform the editorial office of any changes in contact information.

2) Certificate of Confidential Review
